The chance of some sort of cyberattack occurring in retaliation for Biden’s sanctions (or for a cyberattack the US launches to undermine Putin's war effort, which is a possibility being actively discussed) is meaningfully above zero even if it is still quite low---much closer to zero than to 100%, but still not negligible either. Since stocking up on canned goods, keeping your gas tank full, etc. is basically costless (you will always use the food and gas eventually), I would suggest doing so.
After all, that gas pipeline fiasco that happened not that long ago here in the Northeast was proof enough that a major cyberattack can happen. And that was, ostensibly, a small, rogue group of hackers. What can Russia's "big guns" achieve?
So, paranoia or not, it cannot hurt to have some extra supplies around and not need them. I am sure some of you are laughing at this, but cyberattacks are a part of Biden's "response set" to harm the Russian war effort and it is natural that Putin should seek to respond in kind---esp. if he can do so deniably.
The attached Zerohedge article discusses the possible cyberattacks Biden is contemplating in response to Putin’s aggression.
