So, Musk is either paranoid or the American political establishment is very different from what it seems on the surface: I find it very telling that, despite helping the Ukrainian war effort by providing them internet, Musk is more worried about assassination now than he was then.
In truth, I think it would be moronic to assassinate Musk over the revelations about the collusion between Twitter and the Biden campaign---after all, almost all of us already suspected these connections. Clearly, he has more to fear from Putin than from Biden (which is not to say that that risk he faces from Putin isn't also minute as well). That said, attempting a Litvinenko style assassination inside the US is not Putin's style (if you notice, Putin was somewhat reluctant to add the US to the unfriendly nations list and he actually added the UK first.) He has tended to show less respect for our European allies than for us.
Still, interesting to see how this guy feels. Something is going on that is fuelling these concerns, perhaps vague threats that he is reading too much into: He has never shown any inclinations towards paranoia in the past.
I do think political and regulatory retaliation are very likely though. Indeed, I find the timing of this investigation into Neuralink highly suspicious. Why now? And why aren't other companies and, more importantly, universities involved in animal research being investigated? Why just Musk?
