My guess is that the Ukrainians are intentionally making very slow progress in Kherson.
Because Putin is irrationally committed to holding Kherson, and thus can be expected to waste undue resources in trying to hold it despite the fact that it is difficult to resupply, there is actually no reason to do anything that would change the order of battle. If the Ukrainians were to push them back to the other side of the Dnieper, the river would become a defensive asset instead of the hinderance to their efforts to resupply and reenforce it is now. In short, Kherson is being turned into a Russian meat grinder on purpose. Give that, I think we are going to see Ukraine milk their advantage in Kherson and only take it once Putin shows some strategic sense and withdraws.
Another advantage Ukraine has in the Kherson front that might incline Ukraine to “milk” it is that it is closer to Ukraine’s supply lines and is closer to NATO’s support network, while Kherson represents the outer limit of Russia’s supply lines, apart from the negative influence being beyond the river has on Russia’s efforts to support their forces.
A lot of the analysts suggest that it is a feint, but it is more than that: It is a trap combined with a holding attack.
I guess you're aware that the Ukrainians are making rapid progress there now.
Elon Musk wants to let Russia win: https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/elon-musk-proposal-on-ukraine/
This is the text of Musk's tweet:

Ukraine-Russia Peace:
- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.
- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).
- Water supply to Crimea assured.
- Ukraine remains neutral.

So, applying the same principle, if China threatens to use nukes against Taiwan then China should be given half of Taiwan while the other half must be "neutral" -- in other words a China-puppet. In fact, if China threatens to use nukes against Japan then China should be given half of Japan.
Musk surprises me, because I'd assumed that he's a de facto agent/employee of the US military.
