Elon Musk's Jet and Other Strangeness
I do not buy Musk's concerns about assassination. Furthermore, I think Musk is completely mischaracterizing the incident surrounding his son and “the man who threw himself onto the hood of their car.”
Anomalies:
1) Why didn't Musk file a police report over the incident? My guess, he knew that the man had not committed any crime.
2) The man he showed in the video clip he posted seemed pretty calm: Not like someone who had just tried to assault a person. And if someone chased him off the hood of a car, why didn't the fellow drive away? You retreat to your car but you don't drive away? There is something psychologically unnatural about that. That is not the way the fight or flight response works in people.
3) If Elon was adamant about finding the man, he would have hired a private investigator to determine who he was in a few hours. Obviously, Elon posted his license plate in order to "counter dox." It had nothing to do with trying to determine who he is. This is true even if the man had dealer plates on his car: A PI would have given you the man's identity without involving the public.
4) The incident involving his son has nothing to do with real time disclosure of his plane's location: So why is Musk trying to tie the two events together?
5) Musk owns several jets: If he is really concerned about his security, he could simply start using one of the other ones. Bring all three to Dulles or some other hub, and switch planes. In fact, long run, Musk could solve this problem by buying a charter service and including his jet in the mix and switching planes and registrations regularly. This sounds like a pain, but if the man is really concerned about his life acquiring a few more jets and setting up a charter business is not that much work.
A lot of people's ability to track him comes from his decision to fly a Gulfstream out of Brownsville. If he had one plane to fly him out of Brownsville and then switched planes---basically setting up a connecting flight, he could solve this. He could also have his other jets occasionally land in Brownsville.
He could even, dare I say it, charter private jets and switch planes between the different legs of his journeys to obscure his identity. I know, it sucks to make sacrifices for the sack of personal security. Using regular private jets---we must all carry our cross.
Maybe even simpler, and yes I know this isn't cheap, send his jet on a few flights without him. After he drops off at Brownsville, send it on a hop to San Francisco while he stays in Brownsville and then have it come back the next day. Enough of these unnecessary journeys could make tracking his movements much harder.
The point is, there are a variety of things he could be doing to obscure his movements but he is not.
Conclusion:
My guess, is the man was a regular paparazzi. If he did slide up onto the hood of the car, it was just to get a picture, not in a fit of rage. Musk is completely mischaracterizing the incident.
Musk's actions do not suggest that he is actually concerned with assassination. His security is incredibly unimpressive: His security guards look singularly unimpressive, no wearing of a Covid mask in public places (something easy to do while social norms still allow it), no beefy armored SUV picking him up from the airport.
Most importantly, he is not taking any actions to obscure his movements.
The talk of assassination is a publicity stunt---perhaps intended to drive traffic to Twitter or, more likely, to satisfy a narcissist's desire for attention.
