Today E. Jean Carroll decided to perjure herself: She is so self-obsessed, so starved for attention, that she decided to testify under oath to something that never happened. It is very clear that this story was invented to sell books. She did not decide to talk about this when Trump announced his candidacy in 2015; she did not seek to prevent him from becoming president. She waited till her book was about to be released: Why stop your alleged rapist from becoming president when you can wait and use your accusation to sell a book? Monetization of your rape is not the goal of most rape victims—most would prefer to see their attackers punished.
Sadly, E. Jean Carroll deleted her Facebook threads: But this documents that it is profoundly unlikely that she was ever attacked by Donald Trump. Not only is her story implausible—and bears a striking resemblance to a Law and Order episode—but her own comments about Trump are incompatible with her story. Even a man of Trump’s influence would not be allowed into a woman’s dressing room at a high end department store. More importantly, customers are showered with attention at such stores: It is very unlikely that Trump would have ever been alone with her. Both his own bodyguards and sales staff would have been present. None of the staff noticed a man entering the lady’s changing room. No other customers complained. Bergdorf’s is not like your local target—it is almost never empty.
If you believed this story for even one second, however, the above quotes from her Facebook page suggest that it never happened.
No rape victim watches a TV show that stars her rapist. No rape victim makes casual jokes about how much you would have to be paid in order to sleep with her rapist. No rape victim says, “I think rape is sexy.” The fact that the media has intentionally ignored all the evidence that E. Jean Carroll is lying tells us just how corrupt they are. I dare anyone to explain how the post, which I took from her Facebook profile myself, is compatible with her claim of having been raped.
E Jean Carroll has accused five other men of raping her. One has to wonder, how exactly did she end up being raped so many times by so many different men? Not one of these accusations, by the way, was made close enough to the event to allow the police to run a rape kit. One would think, after so many assaults, one would know to report it to the police immediately. She accused a college boyfriend, a former boss who supposedly chased her down a hotel hallway, and Les Moinves of CBS among others. What is more likely, that she is a magnet for rapists—and that she can never bring herself to go to the hospital and do a rape kit—or that she is a liar who uses rape accusations for personal benefit?
When discussing her case on Anderssen Cooper, Carroll gave responses that seemed out of place: Most notoriously, she said, “I think most people think rape is sexy…You’re fascinating to talk to.”
However, there are more problems with Carroll’s story than her bizarre public statements and her troubling history of making accusations: She could not remember the year in which this attack occurred. Perhaps more shocking still, her story had an uncanny resemblance to an episode of Law and Order. E Jean Carroll claims that she met Trump at a Bergdorf Goodman store: Yet no one saw them. Now, the thing about expensive department stores is that they tend to have a lot of anxious salespeople around looking to earn commission. They are not Walmarts or Targets. It is highly unlikely that Carroll would have been left alone while trying on clothing. Bergdorf has salesmen on commission, and no one earns that commission if E Jean Carroll comes in and self-serves. Similarly, someone else would likely have been personally attending to Trump. It is highly unlikely that both of these people would have shaken off their respective salesmen. Even if they had though, it is virtually impossible that Trump, as powerful as he is, would have been allowed to enter a woman’s fitting room. More importantly, Bergdorf Goodman stores then and now keep their dressing rooms closed. An attendant has to open the changing room for you and generally waits for you while you are doing so. So, there would have been someone just outside the dressing room while this was going on, someone who would have allowed Trump to go in. Moreover, Trump was famous enough even at that time that, unless the store was completely empty, he would have drawn a fair amount of attention. No part of E Jean Carroll’s story makes any sense.
At that time, E Jean Carroll was in her mid-fifties. While she was quite a bit younger than she is now, it is still hard to believe that Trump found a woman of her age so completely irresistible that he decided to ravish her in a public dressing room where her screams could easily attract the attention of sales personnel.
More fundamentally, why would a male billionaire spend his spare time hanging out around a department store in the ladies lingerie section? How could such odd behavior have gone unnoticed in New York gossip circles at the time? Certainly Page 6 would have featured a story about a leering Donald Trump haunting the Bergdorf’s ladies dressing room. We have to believe that Trump only did this a handful of times and that when he did he chose an aging gossip columnist over a nubile young woman. If Trump had been hanging out in Bergdorf’s, don’t you think this would garner some attention from others in the store? Also even in the 90’s, as I mentioned above, Trump had bodyguards. Isn’t it interesting that not one of them has discussed this supposed habit of hanging around department stores looking for old ladies to grope? Certainly a disgruntled body guard would have told the media about this behaviour.
Yet another curious fact is that E Jean Carroll still owns the dress she claims she was wearing when Trump allegedly raped her, having posed for the cover of New York Magazine wearing it. Given the advancements in DNA technology, it should certainly be possible to test the dress for Trump’s DNA. Yet, E Jean Carroll has refused to allow such a test. Moreover, she has declined all offers made by public officials to investigate and potentially charge Trump despite temporary removals of statutes of limitations in the aftermath of the Me Too movement. Why wouldn’t you want the police to perform an investigation? Why wouldn’t you want to have the dress tested? This makes sense if and only if she is worried that such an investigation would prove she was lying. A fake lawsuit gets you into much less trouble than a fake criminal accusation.
When Trump offered his DNA in order to refute her allegations, the judge curiously ruled that he had “missed his chance.” This is not something that makes sense if the parties involved are telling the truth and interested in discovering the facts. In her account, she alleges that Donald Trump recognized her as “that advice lady.” Now, I think it is highly unlikely that Trump would recognize an advice columnist from Elle magazine—indeed, it is virtually impossible. Moreover, if Trump knew she was a journalist, wouldn’t this cause him to rethink assaulting her as this implies she has access to the media and could publicize the attack? He is far more likely to have done it if he didn’t recognize her. However, E Jean Carroll could not resist the opportunity to aggrandize herself despite the fact that it makes her narrative far less plausible.
E Jean Carroll said nothing about Trump during the 2016 election cycle. She only came forward when she had a book to promote. Why did she care more about book sales than stopping her supposed rapist from becoming president?

As it happens...I was a staff manager at Bergdorf Goodman's at the time...Lingerie would be the last dressing room...any man could enter...its the very location of "fittings" and alterations for wedding gowns (Dior or Givanchy) and Brides are trying on the "foundations" that support all that silk and satan drapery...with alterations and seamstresses....very crowded dressing rooms....and if Donald Trump had been in any area of Bergdorfs....crowds would have followed him for his "autograph" and thus...
